I just listened to this interesting podcast after we discussed "Is there Life After Death". I was thinking"hmm, near death experiences would be a good topic for our Life At Sunset group." Then our new topic for Weds was posted! It is worth a listen!

Mags, this was a really good listen. I really enjoy the discussion of brain versus mind. The brain is studied in a scientific way, and the mind is a bit of an expanded concept. I think this topic is a really interesting study in the interplay between mind and brain, science and spirituality, evidence and faith. Thank you so much!
For those who were unable to make it to the discussion last night, here is the article that got the discussion started. It is difficult to see the text, but the title is: "Near-Death Experiences Evidence for Their Reality". Questions that came up: is there value in hearing about others' experiences with NDEs? How do NDEs connect to the idea of Life after Death? How does science play into the study of NDEs? Why do some people experience NDEs and others don't?
Thanks, Maggie. I especially like thinking about the spirituality involved (Lazarus raised from the dead and other miracles?) Confirms my belief that reality must be more than the physical. I hope this is reflected in my actions and values.
I still find the idea of NDE scary.
Listened last night. So interesting. A question did occur to me: why do some experience near death and most do not? In most cases cited, it was a positive awakening E.g, the Materialistic person who has an opportunity to refocus his life on quality issues. It's reminiscent of Dickens. Is there a spiritual/faith based component? Or is it the finger of fate?
Had the opportunity to listen to this on my walk today, and it was wonderful. Thank you for sharing, Maggie!
Eager to listen to this. So much to catch up on! Not enough hours in the day😬 Thanks, Maggie for sharing.
