Libby McLoughlin, Weekly Sunset Circle member, referenced this work this past week. It is many things, but weaves the concept of death and 'lateness' into his work. Libby has shared the PDF of his first chapter here. He ends the chapter: "....the irony is how often lateness as theme and as style keeps reminding us of death". I can't seem to write a summary that does it justice, but it's a very enjoyable read. Libby, thank you for passing this on and sharing!
