Last week we explored various factors- external, internal, and both/ neither, that influence how we grieve after someone dies. Let's take the death of Princess Diana as an example- most are familiar with her death and I presume that most people think that this was a tragic death. What factors surrounding her death feel heaviest to you- she had children, she was happy after a long time of being unhappy, she was beautiful, she had kind humanitarian goals.... These are statements that have been made about her and they all might influence how one feels about her death. What if she did not have children? What if she was not considered beautiful? Whatever we feel can give us some information about ourselves. What incites particular reactions surrounding a death for you? If you dig deep and take it a few steps further, you might learn something new. Please share your insights below!
