I found this article interesting on many levels. Do we try too hard to hide our flaws? Life & death are dirty and smelly. Can we find beauty in both? Do we try too hard to control nature and the natural process of living and dying?

This is really interesting, Cheryl, thank you!... Life and Death ARE messy! I find it intriguing to parallel the dying process to the birthing process- childbirth is really messy, and still it is portrayed - in the media, at least- in such a way that even in the struggle of it, there's an understood beauty. And yet, there seems to be an understanding that one can write up a birth plan but at some point might have to throw it out the window. It's the same thing with dying- we might have hopes of what decline looks like, but at a certain point, we have to relinquish control if we want to actively participate in the process. Thank you for sharing!
