About the Event
Imagine seeing a child fall down and scrape their knee on the sidewalk. What is the first thing they do? They bring their hands to their injured knee. When we want to help, show care and love to someone, we don't often present our elbows or heels to them to show affection and warmth - we offer them our hands. Touch can be powerful when appropriate. It can also be an intrusion of personal space. At the end of life, touch is one of the last senses to remain intact. What does science say about touch at the end of life? What do you and your experiences tell you?
