About the Event
The sight of The Great Pyramids, grade school studies of King Tut, and modern takes on mummies can inspire great curiosity about the fascinating beliefs of the Ancient Egyptians. Who was buried in the pyramids? Why? How? What's that thing I read about pulling the brain out through a corpse's nostrils? The beliefs surrounding life, death, and life after death of Ancient Egyptians can seem very different from what might commonly be considered "Western" belief systems. Of course, there is always something to learn when we approach something with a curious mind. What can be gleaned about our own beliefs in examining maybe less familiar beliefs, and in finding similarities, differences, and curiosities? What does your reaction to ancient practices tell you about your current beliefs and understandings?
Register for a link to an optional short video and more detailed article for information about this ancient belief system.
