About the Event

We know that prolonged stress can lead to chronic illness and impact our overall wellbeing at any point in the life span. The topic of stress relief is a popular one because we all experience stress in some form or another (good or bad). Opportunities for stress might be ubiquitous, but so are opportunities, techniques, and methods to mitigate the negative impacts of it. While there are plenty of activities out there to help with stress management, this week we focus more on approaches and strategies of responding to stress, referred to as “The 4 As of Stress Relief”: Avoid, Alter, Accept, and Adapt. While some might be more appropriate than others in a given situation, getting familiar with them can help us more easily choose which one is useful when stress comes knocking. This week, we discuss the 4 As of stress relief as opportunities to add some tools to the tool box. How might these be helpful now, and how might they be helpful strategies that could impact the end of life experience?
