Sunset Circle: Honoring the Body in Life and Death

NEXT SUNSET CIRCLE: What is the purpose of our earthly, human bodies? From an evolutionary and anatomical standpoint, each body part serves a role. Each body part also carries with it energetic, symbolic significance. Our eyes allow us to see- this is a physiological process that enables us to survive by seeing danger, and it is also a process that can help us 'read' others to better emotionally connect. In some systems of understanding, the eyes are associated with knowledge, truth, and intuition. Inquiring about the body from different perspectives can open us up to a greater appreciation of the body in life, in the process of decline or injury, and also after death. During our gathering, we will experience a guided meditation in which we honor and inquire into parts of the body and their utility and importance in life, as viewed from the standpoint of death. Discussion will follow.
