About the Event

Everything in moderation. We are social creatures, but if we spend all of our times with others, interacting, communicating, engaging, we are bound to crave space and alone time to better hear our own voices and thoughts. If we spend all of our time in solitude, we risk loneliness or social isolation. Solitude, aloneness, and independence overlap in many ways, but they are all distinctly different. Each one in excess or deficiency carries with it certain risks, particularly that of loneliess. Loneliness is currently an epidemic and is associated with a multitude of health risks. Knowing the differences between the above and recognizing when you are stepping across the threshold into loneliness can be of great benefit. What is your definition of and relationship to each? How do you know when enough is enough and it is time to consider moving towards socialization, asking for help, or ensuring social connection?…
