Emotions are meant to flow through us. They arise, we experience them, and then express or release them. No feeling is final- they come and go. However, it is likely that sometimes, or many times, you have decided not to express an emotion. Perhaps it was due to fear of making someone uncomfortable, fear of how it would be received, not knowing how to express it, or not feeling like your feelings were welcome. Perhaps it felt like a lump in your throat, like your voice got stuck on its way out. Suppressing feelings just means you have to feel them for longer, but maybe in different or even more uncomfortable ways. But it can be hard!
