Palliative Care and Hospice

"It takes a village". This is especially true and often overlooked when considering caring for someone at the end of life. Medical care is an important part of the Village throughout the living and dying process. As health conditions, goals, and needs change, so does the degree to which medical interventions and the healthcare system are helpful or supportive. This week, we will look at the difference between Palliative Care and Hospice- two specialities in medicine that provide similar services, with crucial differences. We will cover: what are they, who are they, what do the services include, when to call them, and what to expect.
