Family, Given and Chosen

There are many holidays and occasions this season that bring family together. But what is family? Some believe you are born into your family, that family is "given" to you. Some align more with the definition of 'chosen family'- choosing who to let into our inner circle of people that we treat like family. In the spirit of gratitude and reflecting honestly on what IS, what is HERE, and what is NOW, we take a look at family. Family means all kinds of things to different people. What is family to you? Blood relatives? Lifelong friends? Those you’ve known a certain amount of time? People you can count on in times of need? Who is your family? This week, we reflect on the meaning of family and take on the season’s flavor of gratitude to acknowledge those who we consider family.
