On some advance directives, there’s a little box to check for cremation, a little after-thought. There are many factors that influence one's choice about burial options: personal values and beliefs, finances, tradition. What do you want to happen to your body after you have died? It can be helpful to learn as much as you can about each option before making a selection. If you do choose to be cremated, what happens once your wish is declared, and that little box is checked? What happens if you want it, but don’t check the box? What happens to a body in between the time of death and the actual cremation process?
